Rosacea / Generalized & Diffuse Redness

ELEGANCE MEDICAL AESTHETICS

Rosacea is a common skin concern which varies in its presentation from individual to individual. Some may experience redness and flushing, while others present with more pimples and inflamed red bumps in the skin. In more severe cases, there is a combination of both issues which flare with sunlight exposure, coffee, alcohol consumption, spicy foods and stress.

How to treat Rosacea?

The key to successful management of rosacea is early diagnosis and treatment. It is important to follow all of your dermatologist’s instructions. Rosacea can be treated and controlled if medical advice is sought in the early stages. When left untreated, rosacea will get worse and may be more difficult to treat.

Is laser therapy for rosacea painful ?
There is minimal discomfort during this treatment. At most, your skin may become hot during the laser session.
Is the rosacea treatment permanent?
Although some results will be seen after a single session, up to 3 sessions may be recommended. After a series of 3 treatments is completed, one session yearly is recommended for maintenance.
Are there any side-effects?
Mild discomfort, skin redness (erythema) and/or swelling (oedema) are to be commonly expected; these are short-lived. Hyperpigmentation, is a side effect, following any light therapy. This can be avoided by carefully selecting the right treatment for the skin type and avoiding a sun tan or tanning spray 2 weeks before and after treatment. A detailed discussion about potential side-effects will be undertaken at the initial consultation.
What is the cost of the treatment?

Most patients only need a single rosacea laser treatment for the face. One session is priced at $350. If more are needed, ask about package pricing to save on multiple sessions!

The Difference ELEGANCE Makes

At Elegance Medical Aesthetics, we believe that each patient is unique, requiring his or her own treatment that is different from anyone else’s.  So much of the cosmetic industry is “over-hyped”  with clever marketing lingo that creates a confusing mess of services that may or may not be suitable for you.

That is why we take a standard medical approach with each patient. When you come in with something you’d like to change about your appearance, our first step is determining a proper treatment plan for you. This is done with a thorough consultation so we can listen to your goals and understand who you are as a person.
