About Laser Treatment for Facial Veins and Redness

Laser therapy can help to diminish unwanted rosacea and facial veins.  While some results will be seen after just 1 session, most will require 2-3 treatments spaced 1 month apart. The dual wavelength laser targets the tiny capillaries on the face causing them to collapse and dissapear. This will result in less redness and may completely remove the veins on the face.

Is laser therapy painful?

A topical numbing cream can be used beforehand to numb the area. However, during treatment, you may only feel a slight tingling sensation as the laser fires. Our laser has a cooling system that prevents the tip of the laser from getting too hot to burn the skin tissue.

What preparations should I take before treatment?

For optimal results, you will want to avoid direct sun exposure, aspirin, alcohol and smoking for at least a 48 hours beforehand. As well, any facial creams that might make your skin more sensitive (i.e., retinol creams) should not be used for at least a week prior to treatment.

As for the day of treatment, avoid all creams, lotions and moisturizers on the area that is going to be treated. Also, wear comfortable clothing that allows easy access to the body part(s) being treated.

How much does this treatment cost?
The cost of the laser treatment for facial vessels will range from $50 – $150 per session depending on the amount of vessels present.
What are side effects of laser therapy for redness?

The skin above the veins will have a reddish, cat-scratch appearance and can experience mild swelling. This generally disappears over the next few days. Cool pads or ice packs can be applied after treatment.

The Difference ELEGANCE Makes

At Elegance Medical Aesthetics, we believe that each patient is unique, requiring his or her own treatment that is different from anyone else’s.  So much of the cosmetic industry is “over-hyped”  with clever marketing lingo that creates a confusing mess of services that may or may not be suitable for you.

That is why we take a standard medical approach with each patient. When you come in with something you’d like to change about your appearance, our first step is determining a proper treatment plan for you. This is done with a thorough consultation so we can listen to your goals and understand who you are as a person.
